Madeleine Gotschlich

Hi there! My name is Madeleine Gotschlich and I want to help you achieve your goals while reshaping your mindset surrounding health and fitness! A little about me - I'm a professional opera singer and fitness enthusiast with a passion for soaring high notes, perfectly applied red lipstick, and lifting heavy things. I am also the creator of "Let's Talk About Fatphobia in Opera", a video essay which examines several elements of fatphobia, how it permeates society, and specifically how it affects those in the opera industry.

My fitness journey began three years ago when I reached out to Annie because I wanted to learn more about health and fitness as well as develop my overall strength and stamina without having to focus on weight loss. With education from her, as well as extensive self-study, I have developed a love for exercise and a healthy relationship with food - things which, as a fat woman, felt completely inaccessible to me before. My journey has driven me to share the joy I find in movement, educate myself on the roots of weight stigma, and work on increasing inclusivity in fitness spaces. Through my content, I strive to spread compassion, love, and joy while educating people on health and fitness in an accessible and uplifting way.

Nina Anderson

Hi, my name is Nina, and I am SO excited to be one of the assistant coaches for the Empower by Exercise program.

Before working with Annie, I could never seem to stay on a consistent exercise routine in my life. At the time, I was severely under eating (without knowing it) and constantly felt fatigued just going through life. Since I am a petite/smaller framed woman, no one has ever questioned my health. When I decided to work with Annie, I knew I had to make a change. Working with her, I was able to gain lots of energy through bulking and cutting over the course of a year.

Going through her programs has revolutionized how I view health and fitness. Now I eat 700 calories more than I did previously and I wear the exact same dress size; the only thing that had changed is my body composition. This change in body composition has allowed me to have TONS of energy to take on my day. Through my journey, I’ve been able to educate friends and family on what really matters when it comes to health and fitness.

I can’t wait to help others achieve overall health through getting on a consistent exercise plan!

Mary McMurtery

I'm Mary, a singer and voice teacher located in Las Vegas, NV. I'm no stranger to fitness, but in recent years I was unable to exercise, due to my diagnosis with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome), caused by long-term exposure to hidden mold in our former home in Illinois. The chronic adrenal fatigue I experienced was debilitating. I would have to sleep 12-14 hours per night just to get through the day, and I was literally not ALLOWED to exercise during that time, as it would have overstressed my compromised immune system.

Once I got through my treatment and was finally cleared by my doctor to exercise again, I was really nervous to start, as I was afraid of doing too much too soon, overtaxing my system, and backsliding. I knew I needed help, but I don't like to go to the gym, and I'd never worked with a personal trainer before, so I had no idea where to start. I was so fortunate to find Annie online!

Working with her was exactly what I needed. I was able to start slowly, building consistency and challenge gradually, making incremental changes that I could adjust and acclimate to over time. I was also able to workout from the comfort of my own home, without any complicated or expensive equipment! I've only been working with Annie for about a year and a half now, and I have never been so consistent in maintaining a fitness routine in my life! Annie's programs help you learn how to make fitness a natural and enjoyable part of your lifestyle--not another chore you have to "get through."

When I first started, I could barely do 8-12 push-ups on my knees, and now I'm able to do 25 full out--something I never would have thought I could do! (And I don't even like push-ups, lol!) This past December, I was also able to fulfill a life-long dream of hiking up to Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. That hike is NO JOKE: 3.2 miles round trip, 2-3 hours, 550 foot elevation gain, moderate difficulty (though I would personally describe it as plain difficult!). The view was absolutely STUNNING and totally worth it!! Just a few years ago, it would have been impossible for me, but with Annie's help, I was able to get back into shape safely in just a little more than a year's time, and was able to celebrate my accomplishments by literally climbing a mountain to see one of the world's most stunning views.

I am absolutely thrilled with the progress I've made working with Annie, and I'm so honored to be part of the Empowered by Exercise coaching team. I know you can do this and accomplish your goals, too, because I've been there, Friend! Let's do this!!
